Cox's Bazar is popular among locals and international tourists. It is famous for its beautiful beaches that stretch for miles. The longest sandy beach in the world is located in Cox's Bazar. Beaches are set against the natural beauty of green hills and forests. On colder days tourists can enjoy a cup of tea along the beach while admiring the magnificent natural beauty that surrounds them.

Laboni Beach

Laboni Beach is the major tourist beach in Cox's Bazar. It is situated by the town area. There are shops at Laboni beach that sell souvenirs and beach wear.

Himchari

Himchari beach is situated 18 km to the south of Cox's Bazar. The drive to this beach is scenic. This beautiful beach is a good place to take photos. A suggestion for lunch is to take a picnic to Himchari beach. There is a waterfall at Himchori. The waterfall is small during the dry season but during rainy season it is an amazing site. Another site seeing attraction in this area is the "Broken Hills."

Enanai Beach

This beach is situated 35 km to the south of Cox's Bazaar in Ukhia Thana. Enani beach can be reached by taking a jeep ride along the beach from Cox's Bazzar. It takes approximately 30 minutes to get to Enani beach. The sea water is perfect for taking a refreshing swim after sun bathing, and although this beach is farther away it is worth the drive to get away from the crowds that frequent the closer beaches. At Enani beach you can see coral and rock boulders, and it is the ideal spot for a picnic.

Maheskahali Island

Maheskahali is an island near Cox's Bazar. On this island you can enjoy the beaches, mangrove jungles and hills. There is also a shrine in honor of Shiva. Another attraction is a Buddhist Pagoda.

Sonadia Island

Sonadia Island is located 7 km from Cox's Bazar. It has sandy beaches and there is a variety of shells to be seen on this beach. During winter there are many fisherman along the island.

Teknaf


Tenkaf is the the end point of the beach area. It is located along the Naaf river. A suggested outing for the day is to take a river boat to Tenaf beach. The scenery along the river is breathtaking, making this an enjoyable trip. There are also many wild animals and birds to see along the way to the beach.
